#Follow Friday Twitter gems for April 9, 2010
Inspired by @chrisbrogan‘s Follow Friday post, I’m going to begin posting the must-follow tweeps that @twit4restos encounters during our Twitter travels. More than just a twitter link, I’ll offer a blurb on why I think they are an important contribution to the efforts of Twitter for Restaurants and social marketing in general.
You’ll find a permanent listing of go-to blogs, tweeters and must-read books on the Reads page »
I hope you’ll take Chris’ advice and feed your community with useful connections to invaluable people we meet here online.
Without further adieu, this week’s line-up:
@KarenRosenzweig – Karen just recently switched business model gears from @incrediblechef to a full-fledged social marketing for the resto industry juggernaut in Seattle. Her One Smart Cookie Marketing biz offers classes on marketing with social media as well as personal consultations. Yours truly (as @deepdishcreates) got the opportunity to create her new logo, too. Follow Karen for great tips and links to all things social+food in the Greater Seattle area and beyond.
@bluebirdtavern – Sue Bette at Bluebird Tavern in Burlington, VT gets social media for her resto. Bluebird is more than just active on Twitter and Facebook, they have a way of sharing the achievements and activities of local and regional organizations, events, and their food & beverage brethren. They are a model of how to engage their audience and bring qualified biz through the front door. Bravo!
@PracticalCafe – ThePracticalCafe.com is actually a business that offers social marketing solutions for the entertainment and hospitality industry. You wouldn’t exactly guess that by their tweets, though. I see them as an excellent example of how to use Twitter – for sharing. Rarely (ever?) do their tweets or blog posts offer any kind of the sales pitch. Some of their posts are downright hilarious, and always offer up a gem of an anecdote for topics relating to the resto industry. Their RT’s are relevant and interesting, too. That’s why I keep reading, because they aren’t shoving a sale down my throat. Thanks for that.
