Restaurant industry tweeps to follow

Follow FridayIf you’ve been on Twitter for more than a week (or at least over any Friday) you’ve probably noticed a few tweets with the hashtag #FollowFriday or #FF. Follow Friday is just a way to give a special shout out to a few favorite tweeps you follow and find interesting, and think others might find worthwhile.

Share you favorite tweeps

Once described as a Twitter ‘game’, Follow Friday has evolved to more of suggested reading list. A restaurant might #FF their favorite food writers, purveyors, wineries, farmers markets or perhaps a few stellar followers. Its good practice to include a reason why they are worthwhile to follow.

A nice Follow Friday tweet might read:

#FF tweeps we love: Fresh everything @pike_market, Wine brain @seattlewinegal, smart eats @bittman

Stick to posting only on Fridays, and please do everyone a favor and DO NOT #FF every single one of your followers. Your followers already know they are special right? Taking 137 tweets to acknowledge all of them dilutes that special-ness. Some people still do this and that’s a great way to get an eyeball roll and un-followed.
